Having made the decision to move to a better smartphone I soon realised the error of my ways. Not being a fanboy of the Apple products it pretty much left me with the Huawei, Sony, Google and Samsung. I trawled through review sites looking for “the one” and soon cut the list to Samsung or Samsung.
I liked the look of the latest S9 and S9 Note until I saw the price for sim free i.e. buy the phone outright and pay a monthly charge for the sim. I’ve been “sim only” for around 10 years and have no intention of changing.
I browsed my top deals website hotukdeals to see if there were any attractive Samsung deals available. The keyword alert notifying me of a deal on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 at 4gadgets arrives a few days later. The phone is used and available in 4 grades depending on the condition. Hmmm, I thought that’s a huge saving over new. I checked the review sites and a few forums and generally it was all very positive.
£349 of my hard earned money gets me the pristine version delivered next day with:
- 14 day stress free return
- 12 months warranty
- 5-star reviews on Trustpilot and a rating of 9.7/10
The UK dual sim version of the phone arrived next day as promised, delivered by DPD with a 1-hour delivery window. The phone was well packaged and had a Samsung usb-c charging cable. The delivery note and a returns bag were in the box. I then gave it an extremely close examination with the magnifying glass. I’m pleased to say the phone was in absolutely pristine condition.
I was a little nervous buying this but 5/5 for the phone which is brilliant and 5/5 to 4gadgets.
